Join Transfrigoroute
Transfrigoroute is an association of hauliers, distributors, manufacturers and retailers engaged in the transport and distribution of temperature-sensitive products. Transfrigoroute members operate throughout the UK and Europe.
Active Membership (operators of refrigeration vehicles)
This Code of Conduct embraces all members of Transfrigoroute and aims to set out minimum operating standards for the transport and warehousing of all temperature-sensitive products.
Transfrigoroute members undertake to:
- Operate vehicles in accordance with all current legal requirements applying in the the country of operation.
- Operate vehicles capable of maintaining product temperature to customer specification, recognising the requirements particular to the fresh, chill and frozen temperature bands.
- Ensure vehicles are built and maintained in accordance with ATP standards or equivalent standards of thermal efficiency.
- Provide customers with vehicles which accord to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Educate drivers in the correct procedures for the transportation of temperature-sensitive products.
- Ensure, whenever possible, drivers are trained to:
- Pre-cool vehicles to the required load temperature.
- Ensure the product being loaded meets the required temperature.
- Check the accuracy of the load to the consignment note.
- Ensure the product being loaded is in a safe and secure condition for the journey.
- Ensure that the specified temperature is maintained throughout the journey.
- Communicate promptly any difficulties encountered on route to minimise delivery delay and ensure load security.
- Present the load to the customer in a manner which maintains the accuracy, security and temperature of the load.
- Maintain the required temperature throughout any transhipment, storage or re-handling points prior to final delivery.
Transfrigoroute (UK) members undertake to adhere to this Code of Conduct, and Transfrigoroute (UK) undertakes to objectively investigate any complaints relating to any member failing to comply with this Code of Conduct.
Associate Membership (suppliers of equipment and / or services)
Associate Members of Transfrigoroute (UK), involved in the manufacture of insulated / refrigerated body work or equipment used with insulated or refrigerated body work, will consider and implement the following basic Code of Practice where applicable to their product and manufacturing facilities.
The Code of Practice has a number of basic aims, the main one being:
Continual product improvement in design and
production in the pursuit of product excellence.
To this end, Associate Members undertake to:
- Manufacture in accordance with A.T.P. or equivalent standards covering insulated and refrigerated transport.
- Introduce and maintain Quality Control systems for equipment under construction and, when completed, to ensure high levels of quality are provided and maintained, certified to BS5750 or similar International recognised code. (Introduction to be completed by end 1992.)
- Invest in research and development so as to be continually improving their product, using new materials (where applicable) as they become available.
- Provide a clear and concise set of operating instructions for the equipment used.
- Supply with each vehicle airflow / loading advice in line with Transfrigoroute agreed standard layout.
- Provide warranty cover for the equipment supplied.
- Continually update / educate personnel involved in sales or service of their products.
- Provide parts and service capable of reducing vehicle downtime to a minimum in the event of breakdown or reasonable accident repair requirements.
Membership Price list
OPERATORS
Membership for those businesses with five or less vehicles is £200.
Entitles member company to one 'master' communication contact for one calendar year.
Membership for those businesses with six or more vehicles is £500.
Entitles member company to one 'master' communication contact for one calendar year.
OTHER BUSINESSES All other businesses are £500.
Entitles member company to one 'master' communication contact for one calendar year.
ADDITIONAL
Members for 'member companies' are £75 each.
Additional members enjoy all the same benefits and communications as the 'master' contact within their company.
All membership fees are subject to VAT and an invoice will be sent on receipt of completed application form.
